MORRILTON, Ark. – The Conway County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) and Entergy Arkansas today announced that the Morrilton Industrial Park – South Site has achieved Entergy Arkansas’ Select Site certification, a designation that recognizes industrial properties that meet rigorous, pre-determined standards for site readiness.

Representatives from the CCEDC, the Morrilton Chamber of Commerce, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and local elected officials gathered to celebrate the milestone, which certifies a 40-acre site as having the necessary due diligence and marketable to site location consultants and prospective businesses.

Select Site is an Entergy Arkansas initiative designed to help communities gain a competitive edge by preparing and promoting industrial sites that are ready for development. The program involves a comprehensive review process that documents utilities, environmental conditions, infrastructure, and other critical factors required for modern industrial projects with short timelines.

“We’ve worked diligently over the past two years to improve the Morrilton Industrial Park, also known as the May Hope Moose Industrial Park,” said Donnie Crain, president and CEO of the Morrilton Chamber of Commerce and the Conway County Economic Development Corporation. “From clearing the property to completing the necessary due diligence with the help of a site development grant from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, this certification represents the next step in positioning Morrilton among the top industrial sites in Arkansas.”

Entergy Arkansas Vice President of Business and Economic Development Danny Games recognized the Morrilton site as the newest Select Site and commended local leaders for completing the extensive documentation and review process. Entergy Arkansas provided a grant to help offset some of the due diligence costs and produced a custom site video and 360-degree imagery. The Morrilton Industrial Park – South Site will also be featured on the Arkansas Site Selection Center. You can view the full video here.

“Certifying a site is neither quick nor easy,” Games said. “Achieving this milestone ensures Morrilton has accurate, timely information readily available to meet the expectations of site location consultants and prospective companies. We’re proud to recognize Morrilton’s accomplishment and look forward to promoting this site as our newest Select Site.”

“Economic development is a team effort, and Entergy Arkansas is proud to work alongside communities across the state to help them compete for new investment and jobs,” said Laura Landreaux, CEO of Entergy Arkansas. “Through programs like Select Site, we’re doing more than certifying sites, we’re working alongside our state leaders in helping communities prepare for growth by strengthening infrastructure, improving readiness and connecting Arkansas to new opportunities that support long-term prosperity, a key pillar of our Next Generation Arkansas initiative.”

The Select Site program helps communities prepare industrial properties to compete for high-tech, manufacturing, distribution and other large-scale economic development projects. With accelerated project timelines becoming the norm, having a certified site with completed due diligence is increasingly critical to securing new investment. Through the Select Site program and the Arkansas Site Selection Center, Entergy Arkansas works with communities across the state to meet that demand.

Other Entergy Arkansas Select Sites are located in Little Rock, Jefferson County, Newport, Osceola, Russellville, Stuttgart, West Memphis and Wynne. Recently announced projects located nearby on former Select Sites include Owens Corning in Russellville and the Tractor Supply Co. distribution center in Maumelle.
