With power now fully restored across North Louisiana following the historic winter storm, I want to pause to say two simple words: thank you.
Thank you to our customers for your patience, resilience and extraordinary sense of community. In the face of adversity, what shined brightest was how people cared for one another. We saw neighbors stepping in to help, families making room for others and communities lifting each other up. That kindness and generosity are the heart of North Louisiana, and we are proud to serve a region built on those values. Your spirit made a set of difficult circumstances more manageable and reminded us why these communities are so special.
I also want to recognize the more than 4,500 restoration workers who answered the call. These men and women worked around the clock in some of the most hazardous conditions our system has ever faced. Many were away from their own families while enduring freezing temperatures, mud, standing water and difficult terrain to rebuild damaged lines and infrastructure.
In my four decades in this industry, this was the most severe ice event I have witnessed on our electrical system. The professionalism, grit and teamwork displayed by our crews and mutual assistance partners was nothing short of extraordinary. Their determination never wavered, and their work reflects the very best of our company.
Restoration required persistence and precision. Even after initial repairs, continued environmental impacts created new challenges, and crews returned again and again to ensure every repair was completed thoroughly and correctly. That sustained effort is what allowed us to restore service across the region.
We are deeply grateful for the trust you place in our company and we don’t take that for granted. Storms will come and go, but our commitment to North Louisiana remains constant. It is an honor to stand with you, and we thank you for reminding us what true community looks like.
