Entergy Texas Storm Update – 8/29/21 @ 12 p.m.

Hurricane Ida is 35 miles SSE of Grand Isle, LA. Winds are near 155 mph. Some additional intensification may occur before landfall. Conditions are worsening as heavy rainbands are spreading across southeast Louisiana with increase in wind speeds. Rainbands are spreading into coastal Mississippi, Alabama, and outer rainbands are approaching Baton Rouge. Landfall is expected near Grand Isle, La. around midday today.

Entergy System Hurricane Ida Update – 8/29/21 @ 9 a.m.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Ida has strengthened to a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. The extremely dangerous storm is expected to make landfall in southeastern Louisiana in the early afternoon today and move through Mississippi. Those in the hardest-hit areas could experience power outages for weeks.

Entergy Mississippi Storm Update – 8/28/21 @ 1 p.m.

Entergy Mississippi is preparing for severe weather due to Hurricane Ida which may cause power outages throughout our service territory.  Thunderstorms, heavy rains and high winds are expected to impact the service territory Sunday and Monday.   Due to the predicted severity of the storm, widespread outages are possible, and restoration could be extended.  We are working to ensure we have the people and resources to respond to outages safely. Crews are ready to respond quickly and safely.

Entergy Texas Storm Update – 8/28/21 @ 12 p.m.

Hurricane Ida is located over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico about 345 miles southeast of the mouth of the Mississippi River. Max sustained winds are currently 80-85 mph. The storm is expected to gradually intensify into the early afternoon and then rapidly intensify until landfall occurs. It is forecast to have winds of 130 mph when it strikes central/southeastern Louisiana on late Sunday afternoon.

Hurricane Ida continues to be forecasted to make landfall Sunday in central Louisiana as a major hurricane. The strength of the storm at landfall and the damage it causes will affect the time required to restore power to all customers.

Hurricane Ida continues to intensify and move into the Gulf of Mexico. Ida is projected to make landfall near the central/southeast Louisiana coastline on Sunday afternoon. Entergy Texas is carefully monitoring the track of the storm, which would bring the potential for severe storms, flooding and high winds. If our region is affected by Hurricane Ida, customers may experience power outages across southeast Texas, which could be extensive.

Entergy New Orleans, LLC and Entergy Louisiana, LLC are monitoring and planning for the potential impacts from Tropical Storm Ida that is expected to travel across the Gulf of Mexico in the coming days.
