A long-term partnership between Entergy and Green Light New Orleans continues to help create sustainable, healthy and vibrant communities through a one-of-a-kind rain barrel program and volunteerism.

At Entergy New Orleans, safety is a core value. This mindset extends from the field, to the office, to home and to our communities. On Thursday, March 25, Entergy volunteers worked with our long-time community partner Rebuilding Together New Orleans to help build a wheelchair ramp and provide additional home modifications for a local family in New Orleans East. This is the first of several collaborations with Rebuilding Together to provide critical home repairs for families in need across New Orleans throughout 2021.

The federal tax filing season through the Internal Revenue Service runs now through April 15, and low- to moderate-income Entergy Arkansas customers can receive free IRS-certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance to ensure they are correctly filing returns for their greatest benefits.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech was delivered before an audience of 250,000 at the March on Washington on Aug. 28, 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial in the nation's capital. It was the largest crowd in the history of the capital at that time. Dr. King's speech impressed on the crowd and the government that the plight of African Americans was in dire straits 100 years after slavery ended when President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 and worked with Congress to pass the 13th amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1865. He referred to the Declaration of Independence, which states that we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.

Brendan Pitre, Entergy Nuclear fleet senior coordinator of security compliance, assigned to Waterford 3 Steam Electric Station, volunteered to help in the massive Hurricane Laura restoration effort. For this, he was recognized by Entergy Nuclear for exhibiting a safe work environment and a passion for teamwork and received one of Entergy Nuclear’s Employee Spotlight recognitions.
