Sandy Bayou 500/230 kV Substation Project


Description: This project constructs a new 500/230 kV substation that taps into the existing Driver – Shelby 500 kV line. The station will include (2) 500-230 kV autotransformers and connect to the new customer substation with 2 new 230 kV lines.

Cost: Approximately $88 million.

Status: The project is expected to be placed in service in the Summer of 2024.

Benefits: This project addresses projected load growth in Mississippi County.
