The majority of our customers impacted by the winter weather that brought snow, ice and below freezing temperatures to parts of our service area have been restored. As of 6:15 a.m., approximately 12,530 Entergy customers in the hardest-hit areas of Louisiana and Mississippi are without power. Our crews will continue working to restore service until the last light is on.
Entergy’s workforce has restored power to approximately 86% of customers impacted by last weekend’s winter storm. Crews continue working under challenging conditions, including freezing temperatures, to restore service to remaining affected customers.
We continue to make steady progress, restoring service for more than 75% of our customers, but conditions remain dangerous and unpredictable as ice-related hazards persist and new risks emerge daily. Freezing temperatures and high winds could impact restoration efforts throughout the weekend.
Entergy’s board of directors today declared a quarterly dividend payment of $0.64 per share on the company’s common stock.
We’ve restored power to 68% of customers affected by the winter storm. Crews are concentrating on the hardest-hit areas and continue to face challenging conditions. We’ve restored more than 55% of all Entergy customers across the system following the recent severe winter weather. Restoration efforts remain focused on the hardest-hit areas in Louisiana and Mississippi, with full service expected by this weekend.
When a massive winter weather event hits an area more familiar with tropical temperatures, thunderstorms and tornadoes, the impacts are often hard to fathom. The recent storm that swept through Entergy’s service territory – disrupting electrical service for approximately 171,200 Entergy customers – brought with it significant ice accumulation and extreme challenges that have slowed our restoration efforts.
Restoration efforts are well underway following the recent severe winter weather, which continues to disrupt customers’ lives primarily in Louisiana and Mississippi. We have restored nearly 50% of all Entergy customers across the system, and work continues in the hardest-hit areas, which are expected to be restored this weekend.
Restoration is well underway as Entergy Louisiana crews continue making progress assessing damage and restoring power to customers impacted by severe winter weather.
