Severe weather pelted Entergy Mississippi’s service area Tuesday afternoon and evening, causing power outages for nearly 80,000 customers. About a third of the remaining outages are concentrated in the metro-Jackson area.

The Logistics of “Heads in Beds and Fed”

Coordinating logistics for storm restoration might be mind-blowing for some, but for Kevin Weber, it’s simple. “The Entergy logistics team lives by the motto ‘heads in beds and fed’ for every storm,” said the director of security policy and compliance and Entergy’s storm logistics section chief.

Entergy Mississippi Cristobal Restoration Nears Completion

Tropical Storm Cristobal has moved out of the Entergy Mississippi territory. The storm began causing power outages across the state on Sunday evening and continued as it moved northward. Since then, more than 12,200 customers have been restored, down from a peak of 12,874. Entergy workers and additional resources continue efforts to restore customers who remain without power.  We expect all customers who can safely take power to be restored today.

Mississippi’s Team Continues Cristobal Restoration Efforts

Entergy Mississippi has restored power to more than 9,000 customers, down from a peak of 12,874 outages caused by Tropical Storm Cristobal. Cristobal’s remnants could also result in additional outages and damages to our electrical grid as it continues moving northward out of our service area. We expect most customers to be restored late tonight, though some customer outages in Attala, Grenada, Hinds, Madison and Washington counties may carry over to tomorrow. Estimated restoration times by address and specific information by county are available on ourView Outagespage.
