September is National Preparedness Month, and Entergy is joining organizations across the country in encouraging customers to take simple, proactive steps to keep their families and property safe before emergencies occur. As severe weather grows more frequent and intense across the Gulf South preparing now is more important than ever.

This year’s National Preparedness Month focuses on empowering families and communities to take pride in their ability to protect themselves and their families and to work together to recover from disaster. As we move through hurricane season, the observance is a good reminder for customers to update their emergency plans, check their supplies and make sure they’re ready for whatever the 2026 season may bring.

National Preparedness Month reinforces principles central to Entergy’s ongoing storm readiness: assessing your risks, preparing in advance, maintaining communication and acting proactively. These actions prove invaluable when severe weather strikes and reflect our commitment to the communities that we serve.

Our year‑round commitment to preparedness
The 2026 National Preparedness Month theme reinforces a message that is central to how we serve our customers. Preparedness isn’t a one‑season task — it’s a year‑round commitment.

“Preparedness isn’t something we think about only during hurricane season — it’s a 365-days-a-year commitment,” said Dakin DuBroc, vice president of crisis readiness and response. “Major storms have shaped how we strengthen our system and how we respond. National Preparedness Month is an important reminder for all of us to take steps now to stay safe and ready.”

We work year-round to inspect, maintain and harden the electric system. This includes upgrading poles and equipment, strengthening substations, installing smart technology to reduce outages and improve restoration times, and refining the restoration process after every major event. We also continuously monitor weather conditions and coordinate closely with emergency officials so we can act quickly and safely when severe weather occurs.

We’ll weather any storm — together
In recent years, our region has faced hurricanes, tornadoes, winter storms and extreme heat. These challenges underscore why preparedness matters and why Entergy continues to focus on resilience, reliability and safety.
