In recognition of National Volunteer Week (April 19–25), Entergy Louisiana is proud to highlight one of our own whose commitment to service exemplifies Entergy’s core values. Billy Bonner, senior IT consultant, has been named the 2026 Northeast Louisiana Champion of Service by Volunteer Louisiana. This honor underscores his extraordinary impact across Ouachita Parish.
Bonner exemplifies the spirit of servant leadership through sustained, hands-on involvement in initiatives that strengthen communities and improve quality of life. His volunteer efforts span from environmental stewardship, hunger relief, and youth development.
“Billy’s recognition as the Northeast Louisiana Champion of Service is a direct reflection of the integrity, leadership, and commitment he brings both to Entergy and to the communities we serve,” said Seth Mankin, Manager, IT. “His dedication to volunteerism and his ability to inspire others to take action transcends our values in practice. Billy consistently demonstrates that service extends beyond the workplace, and his impact across Ouachita Parish is transformational to building a more vibrant Louisiana.”
Through his work with Keep Ouachita Parish Beautiful and Keep Louisiana Beautiful, Billy has played a key role in leading community beautification, litter abatement, and cleanup initiatives, including efforts aligned with Love the Boot Week. His dedication to preserving and enhancing the local environment fosters community pride and encourages others to take ownership of shared spaces.
Bonner’s service also extends to hunger relief through his involvement with the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank and Grace Place Soup Kitchen. Whether sorting donations, supporting food distribution, or serving meals, he approaches every opportunity with humility and purpose. His efforts help ensure families across the region receive critical support.
A strong advocate for collaboration, Bonner contributes his time and expertise to United Way initiatives, connecting people and resources to amplify community impact. His leadership is grounded in the understanding that meaningful progress is achieved when individuals and organizations work together.
Equally impactful is Billy’s investment in the next generation. Through the Love Where You Live Internship Program and his involvement in youth athletics, he mentors young people. He instills leadership skills, civic responsibility, and a lasting commitment to service. His example, both professionally and personally, reinforces the importance of giving back.
Bonners’s recognition is not the result of a single effort. It reflects a consistent and sustained commitment to making Ouachita Parish a cleaner, stronger, and more compassionate place to live. He has contributed more than 60 volunteer hours annually toward beautification initiatives and serves as a board member for Keep Ouachita Parish Beautiful. He has also been recognized twice as Volunteer of the Month by Ouachita Green.
At Entergy Louisiana, volunteerism is a core part of who we are. Our employees continuously demonstrate a shared commitment to the communities we serve. They invest time, talent, and energy to drive meaningful change. Billy Bonner’s recognition as Champion of Service is a powerful reflection of these values in action.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we thank Billy for his leadership and dedication, and we recognize all Entergy employees who make a difference through service. Together, we are building stronger communities and powering a better future for Louisiana.
