Entergy New Orleans continues to invest in strengthening the electric grid and improving the reliability of service for our customers. Significant infrastructure improvements are underway in Algiers’ Tall Timbers and Park Timbers neighborhoods. These projects involve upgrading the underground electrical systems in both areas, boosting service reliability for our customers.

During fall 2025, Entergy New Orleans’ Metro Operations team worked to launch both the design and construction stages of the project, which include replacing underground cables and associated infrastructure.

To date, approximately 40% of the scheduled underground infrastructure replacements have been completed. The remaining work will continue through 2026, with project completion expected by year’s end.

“We’re replacing the underground primary cable that serves Tall Timbers and Park Timbers with new infrastructure that will significantly improve reliability for customers in these neighborhoods,” said Jessica Neveu, reliability manager at Entergy New Orleans. “These investments help reduce outages, strengthen our electric system, and ensure we can continue providing reliable service to our customers.”

Crews are installing the new underground primary cable using construction methods that limit digging and minimize disruption for residents and nearby properties.

Entergy New Orleans is committed to upgrading infrastructure, enhancing reliability, and creating a stronger energy future for the communities we serve.
