As more families in New Orleans and across Louisiana struggle with rising food prices, Entergy New Orleans remains committed to addressing food insecurity and supporting community organizations working to meet this critical need.

Throughout the summer, we partnered with Heroes of New Orleans to collect food donations for families in need. The partnership brought together employees and community supporters with a shared commitment to helping families in need. Heroes of New Orleans distributes the donated food at local schools and through its workforce development program to families in need.

“Helping the Heroes of New Orleans in their mission is part of Entergy’s continuing commitment to the city we serve,” said Stephanie Willis, director of public affairs at Entergy New Orleans. “Food insecurity can place tremendous pressure on families so will continue to look for meaningful ways of supporting those in need.”

Since 2024, USDA food donations to Second Harvest are down 61 percent, while the number of individuals seeking food assistance has increased 40 percent. Louisiana has also experienced a 20 percent decline in SNAP enrollment since 2025, one of the sharpest declines in the nation.

These trends reinforce the importance of supporting community partners that provide food and other essential resources to families.

Our efforts to address food insecurity are part of our broader commitment to supporting the communities we serve. Through community partnerships and employee engagement, we will continue to identify opportunities to help address needs that directly affect our customers.
