Hot Arkansas summers can put a strain on your home—and your energy usage. That’s why the Entergy Arkansas Entergy Solutions programs are focused on making it easier than ever for customers to save energy and money.
Through the Home Energy Solutions program, homeowners can receive energy-saving products and services—at no additional cost. From high-performance showerheads to duct sealing and AC tune-ups, the program uses a network of authorized trade allies to tackle the everyday issues that drive up energy usage and make homes uncomfortable.
Recently, the Entergy Solutions team hosted a neighborhood “sno-cial,” a fun gathering at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Little Rock. There, families cooled off with snow cones and learned about the services available. Free Lighting, an Entergy Solutions trade ally, was on hand to answer questions, sign up residents for the program and schedule no-cost upgrades.
Sakeena Summerville has been an Entergy Arkansas customer for the last seven years. She’s noticed the summertime has taken a toll on her energy costs and decided to sign up for the program.
“If I can do anything to get my electricity bill down, I am definitely on it,” Summerville said.
Entergy Solutions representatives also walked around the neighborhood, knocked on doors and talked to homeowners to get the word out.
“We offer these programs as a resource to benefit our customers,” Entergy Solutions Multifamily Home Energy Program Manager Greg Pierce said. “It’s really important that Entergy customers take advantage of all of the benefits that these programs provide to have an efficient and comfortable home.”
Just a couple of weeks later, the same trade ally returned to the neighborhood to complete the work. They first perform a Home Energy Assessment, a comprehensive evaluation of the home’s energy usage. Based on that assessment, they determine how to make the home more energy efficient.
Belinda Green noticed her energy usage has been a little higher this summer and was excited to get the crew out to figure out what was going on.
“This is a very important program,” Green said. “You don’t get too many free options like this.”
The team added weather strips and door sweeps to the doors, caulked and sealed plumbing, sealed ducts and performed an AC tune-up. Green said the impact was immediate.
“It was a good experience to see them work so hard to help others and help me save money,” Green said.
