America’s energy needs are expanding dramatically. Over the next five years, analysts predict that U.S. electricity demand will grow by 15.8 percent. While general consumer demand is a part of this increase, recent expansions by energy-intensive industries — from hyperscale data centers to steel production facilities, LNG terminals and more — are having a profound impact on overall energy demand.

To meet consumer needs, capture that growth and achieve U.S. energy goals, investment is critical, especially in well-suited areas such as Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas — regions that leading energy company Entergy is dedicated to serving. In the Gulf South and across its entire portfolio, Entergy is committed to improving the reliability and sustainability of the energy system while keeping costs as low as possible.

Entergy recently served as a sponsor at POLITICO’s 2025 Energy Summit, an annual event that brings together policymakers, industry leaders and other experts to discuss the current state of global and U.S. energy policy. There, Haley Fisackerly, president and CEO of Entergy Mississippi, shared lessons from the company’s recent investments and explored how Entergy can continue to help set the course for national action.

Here are five key takeaways that will help the U.S. achieve a resilient energy future.
