Entergy is building a smarter energy infrastructure by including devices to automate the distribution of power on the lines that feed millions of homes and businesses across its four-state service area. 

In its first comprehensive base rate case since 2008, Entergy New Orleans today filed a plan with the New Orleans City Council to establish a single, uniform rate structure for all Orleans Parish customers, while improving reliability, modernizing the grid and utilizing new technologies that will provide customers with innovative solutions and help them take greater control over their energy costs.

Improved outage restoration. Better customer service. Energy-saving tools for customers. These are all part of Entergy Texas, Inc.’s vision for a smarter energy future. The company took another step toward that vision when the Public Utility Commission of Texas voted to approve an advanced metering system.

Together with other parties, Entergy Texas, Inc. filed a motion today with the Public Utility Commission of Texas to dismiss the company's application requesting a Certificate of Convenience and Necessity for one of the four 495 MW generating units at the Union Power Station near El Dorado, Arkansas.
