While the federal Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program offers energy bill payment assistance, the typical application process is cumbersome, paper based and error prone – meaning it can take days, weeks or even months for qualifying individuals to receive the help they need.

“Making electricity affordable to everyone in this country is only one small part of the overall problems facing people with low income, but it will be difficult to satisfactorily address without creating the overall climate of goodwill.”

Recently, Entergy hosted a poverty simulation for over 70 employees where they stepped into the shoes of customers living with limited incomes. The simulation offered a first-person view of the obstacles faced by residents living with little means in our service area of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
