On Aug. 29, 2025, New Orleans and the surrounding region marked the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, a storm that left much of the city of New Orleans underwater, displaced thousands of residents, and caused widespread destruction. Despite these challenges, the people of New Orleans demonstrated remarkable resilience, unity and a determination to rebuild.
