Entergy Louisiana is proud to recognize Brian Delaune as the Lineman of the Game during the New Orleans Saints’ home game against the Atlanta Falcons. This recognition celebrates employees who exemplify the dedication, professionalism and community commitment that define Entergy’s lineworkers across the state.
The Lineman of the Game honor highlights team members who demonstrate exceptional commitment to safety, service and operational excellence. Entergy values the opportunity to spotlight linemen because they represent the front line of our mission—delivering safe, reliable power to the communities we serve and responding with skill and resilience during times of need.
“Our lineworkers are the foundation of safe and reliable service for our customers, and we honor them to recognize the skill, discipline and accountability they bring to the job every day,” said Shelton Hudson, vice president of reliability at Entergy Louisiana. “Brian exceeds these qualities. His dedication to continuous learning, his commitment to safety and his ability to build strong, solutions-focused relationships with his crew exemplify what it means to be an Entergy lineworker.”
A native of Slidell, Brian has been with Entergy for two years. He received all of his training through Entergy’s comprehensive workforce development programs, including job-site instruction and level-based technical classes. Brian credits the company’s investment in training and safety with providing everything needed to succeed in the field.
Brian’s decision to become a lineworker was shaped by both personal respect and family tradition. His wife’s family has served at Entergy for four generations—including his wife, Kaley—whose firsthand stories of hard but meaningful work inspired him to pursue the career. “I wanted to serve my community while problem-solving and working with my hands,” he shared. “Becoming a lineworker felt like the right way to do both, and I’m proud to now be part of that family legacy.”
For Brian, the most rewarding aspect of the job is being part of something larger than himself. Whether working side-by-side with his crew or restoring power after severe weather, he values the sense of purpose and unity that the role provides. “The bond built between your crew and your community cannot be matched,” he said.
Brian encourages anyone considering this career path to approach it with commitment and a focus on continuous growth. He emphasizes dedication, sacrifice and a strong commitment to safety, noting that while support is always available, success requires initiative and a willingness to learn every day.
Outside of work, Brian enjoys fishing, playing golf and traveling with his family. A lifelong LSU and New Orleans Saints fan, he credits lessons learned from playing high school football—teamwork, resilience and pushing through adversity—with shaping the lineman he is today.
Entergy congratulates Brian on being named Lineman of the Game and thanks him for exemplifying the values and service that strengthen our workforce and the communities we proudly serve.
