Entergy New Orleans recently completed a series of Super Tax Day events designed to provide free and reliable tax preparation for qualified customers. In partnership with Clover, El Centro and United Way of Southeast Louisiana, we hosted eight events across the city. Approximately 300 customers received in-person assistance from IRS-certified volunteers who helped them file their tax returns with confidence and accuracy.
The events also offered customers information about tax credits and deductions that may increase their refunds. This included guidance on the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, which remains one of the nation’s most effective tools for reducing poverty. Energy Smart also participated in the events and shared tools and resources that can help customers lower energy costs throughout the year.
“Super Tax Day events help families secure refunds that make a real difference in their lives. We are proud to work with trusted partners who share our belief in the power of access and information,” said Stephanie Willis, director of public affairs at Entergy New Orleans. “These events reflect our promise to stand with our customers and support their financial stability.”
Entergy has supported Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites for more than 15 years. This collaboration with the IRS, United Way affiliates and local nonprofits has helped return $333 million to nearly 200,000 residents across Entergy’s service area since 2009. In 2025 alone, Entergy helped low-income customers receive $54.2 million in federal tax returns.
Customers who were unable to attend can still receive in-person support at Entergy-sponsored VITA sites through April 15, 2026.
