A reliable and resilient electric system depends on more than infrastructure. It depends on the skilled men and women who build, maintain and restore it.
That’s why Entergy and Quanta Services are investing in the next generation of Louisiana’s energy workforce through the Louisiana Resiliency Scholarship, which provides students pursuing careers as electrical lineworkers with financial support and a pathway to specialized training.
This year’s scholarship recipients, Richard Chabreck and Cameron Chabreck, both Louisiana natives, will attend Northwest Lineman College’s Electrical Lineworker Program. The scholarship covers tuition, application and lab fees, CDL costs, required tools and housing during the program.
This partnership reflects Entergy’s and Quanta’s shared commitment to developing a skilled workforce capable of supporting Louisiana’s growing energy needs and strengthening the reliability and resiliency of the electric system.

Creating pathways to opportunity
For Richard Chabreck, a Lacombe native and Fontainebleau High School graduate, an interest in electrical work began through hands-on experience working alongside his father in the water well business, where he helped install and repair pumps and tanks.
That experience sparked an interest in pursuing a career in the electrical industry and eventually led Richard to linework.
“Receiving this scholarship means an opportunity to enter one of the most competitive fields and receive the best education from the best lineman school in America,” Richard said. “This is more than just a scholarship to me; it is an opportunity to get into a career that I truly love.”
Cameron Chabreck, of Mandeville, was drawn to linework because of the opportunity to work with his hands, take on challenges and build a career that directly impacts people’s lives.
Cameron plans to develop his skills as a lineworker, build a long-term career in the electrical industry and continue advancing professionally.
“I’m grateful that Quanta and Entergy are investing in my future and giving me a chance to succeed,” Cameron said. “This scholarship motivates me to work hard and make the most of this opportunity.”
Investing in the people who power Louisiana
Lineworkers are critical to the electric industry. They work year-round to maintain the infrastructure that delivers electricity to customers and play an especially important role when severe weather requires crews to respond quickly and safely to restore power.
As Louisiana experiences continued economic and population growth, the need for a strong pipeline of skilled energy workers will only increase.
The Louisiana Resiliency Scholarship helps address that need by providing students with access to specialized training and the tools necessary to begin careers in the power delivery industry. Following completion of the program, scholarship recipients commit to at least two years of employment with a Quanta company, providing an opportunity to apply their training and begin building their careers in the field.
For Entergy and Quanta, the program represents an investment that extends beyond the classroom.
