For the Entergy lineworkers headed to Overland Park, Kansas, the competition doesn’t begin when they arrive at the rodeo grounds. It begins weeks and sometimes months earlier, with practice, preparation and repeated drills that demand the same precision and attention to detail they bring to their work every day.
At the International Lineman’s Rodeo, some of our most skilled lineworkers will put their craft to the test alongside competitors from utilities around the world. The event will take place Oct. 14-17.
“This is a great opportunity to recognize the skill, dedication and teamwork our lineworkers demonstrate every day,” said Charles Long, senior vice president of power delivery. “They represent the best of what we do in power delivery, and we’re proud to see them take their skills to the international stage. We wish each of them the very best and, most importantly, a safe and successful competition.”
Entergy’s regional rodeos serve as qualifying events for the bigger stage, giving line workers an opportunity to demonstrate the technical skills, teamwork and safety-focused execution that are essential to their work.
