Behind the scenes of the restoration: Battling the winter weather
As Darren Cox held his newborn child in his arms for the first time, he didn’t anticipate that less than a month later, he’d be leaving his home for days on end—working through snow, ice and freezing temperatures to restore power to our customers across our region. How resilient infrastructure rises to the test in Rolling Fork
When severe weather hits, the Rolling Fork community knows it can count on Entergy Mississippi. This small Delta town has faced extraordinary challenges in recent years, and its spirit of resilience shines through every storm.

Winter weather impacts: understanding significant ice accumulation
When a massive winter weather event hits an area more familiar with tropical temperatures, thunderstorms and tornadoes, the impacts are often hard to fathom. The recent storm that swept through Entergy’s service territory – disrupting electrical service for approximately 171,200 Entergy customers – brought with it significant ice accumulation and extreme challenges that have slowed our restoration efforts.

Helping customers through winter storm
We know how important electric service is to our customers, especially during the bitter cold brought by the recent winter storm. If you’re without power, we understand how difficult this is, and we’re working as safely and quickly as possible to restore service to everyone who can safely take power. If you do have power, please consider taking steps to reduce electric usage to save money during this period of extreme cold — every little bit helps.

Local information centers being opened to help customers
We know being without power is difficult, especially during extremely cold weather. To provide additional support while we work safely and quickly to restore service, we will open customer information centers in areas heavily impacted by the recent winter storm beginning Thursday, Jan. 29.
