Entergy New Orleans has restored power to 98% of customers. We anticipate the remaining 4,000 customers who remain without power to have it restored by late evening Sept. 10 if they are able to receive it.

As of 6 p.m., we have restored nearly 155,000 customers. We anticipate the vast majority of customers in New Orleans Parish who can safely accept power will be restored by late evening Sept. 8. Customers in the hardest hit areas along Chef Menteur Highway east of Chef Pass are estimated to be restored by Sept. 29 if they are able to receive power.
As of noon today, we have restored nearly 150,000 customers, including all of hospitals, and a number of grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, hotels and restaurants. We also continue to restore residential neighborhoods.
TheNew Orleans Power Stationcontinues to be an important resource in Hurricane Ida restoration process.
nAs a result of Hurricane Ida’s catastrophic intensity, all eight transmission lines that deliver power into the New Orleans area are currently out of service. When this occurred, it caused a load imbalance in the area and resulted in generation in the area coming offline.nWe are currently working to assess damage and identify a path forward to restore power, to those who can take it, in the area.nWe have provided back-up generation to the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board.nnPower will not be restored this evening, but we will continue work to remedy.
Hurricane Ida has made landfall as a destructive and extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane, bringing with it life-threatening storm surge and catastrophic wind damage. Those in the hardest-hit areas could experience power outages for weeks.

According to the National Weather Service, an EF0 tornado passed through the New Orleans Uptown area and Algiers early this morning, resulting in severe damage to those areas.
Severe storms came through the Metro New Orleans area early this morning brining heavy rains, lightening and strong winds. At its peak, the storm caused 10,000 outages throughout the New Orleans area. Entergy New Orleans crews and contractors are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore power

On Thursday, March 25, Entergy volunteers worked with our long-time community partner Rebuilding Together New Orleans to help build a wheelchair ramp and provide additional home modifications for a local family in New Orleans East. This is the first of several collaborations with Rebuilding Together to provide critical home repairs for families in need across New Orleans throughout 2021.
