Ida Knocks Out Transmission Sources into New Orleans

nAs a result of Hurricane Ida’s catastrophic intensity, all eight transmission lines that deliver power into the New Orleans area are currently out of service. When this occurred, it caused a load imbalance in the area and resulted in generation in the area coming offline.nWe are currently working to assess damage and identify a path forward to restore power, to those who can take it, in the area.nWe have provided back-up generation to the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board.nnPower will not be restored this evening, but we will continue work to remedy.

The Power of Upcycling

City Park provides New Orleanians and visitors with access to natural and cultural resources, including many nature paths. Thanks to Entergy’s transmission vegetation team, park visitors now have an improved experience on several of those walking trails.

Entergy Volunteers Make Local Homes Safer With Rebuilding Together New Orleans

At Entergy New Orleans, safety is a core value. This mindset extends from the field, to the office, to home and to our communities. On Thursday, March 25, Entergy volunteers worked with our long-time community partner Rebuilding Together New Orleans to help build a wheelchair ramp and provide additional home modifications for a local family in New Orleans East. This is the first of several collaborations with Rebuilding Together to provide critical home repairs for families in need across New Orleans throughout 2021.
