Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans are closely monitoring the tropical system in the Gulf and are preparing for severe weather that could impact our service territory within the next 24 hours. Should the storm impact our service areas, Entergy crews are ready to respond quickly and safely once conditions allow.

Hurricane season is here

Hurricane season starts today, and scientists predict there could be 13 named storms, with six being hurricanes – two of which are predicted to be major hurricanes of Category 3 or higher.

Entergy expands storm response training ahead of the 2026 hurricane season

Preparing for severe weather is a year‑round priority. As part of our continuous focus on readiness, employees from across our four‑state service area recently participated in a system tropical weather exercise designed to strengthen our response to major weather events.

Entergy Mississippi has successfully completed restoring power to all customers whose homes and businesses could safely take electricity following this week’s severe weather.

Significant progress has been made in outage restoration from the overnight thunderstorms. At the peak that occurred at 9:15 p.m. last night, we had 5.514 customers without power. As of 6:00 p.m., approximately 1,085 customers are without power from this event.
