2026 applications now open

25 years of giving

The most recent grants mark the 25th year that Entergy shareholders have supported projects that save energy, educate the public, restore habitat, reduce waste or improve resiliency. Since the Environmental Initiatives Fund was established in 2001, Entergy shareholders have invested nearly $45 million in environmentally beneficial projects and programs.

The fund recently awarded $1 million in funds from Entergy shareholders to local environmental partners in Entergy’s four-state service area. That included money for the half-mile Capitol Green Connector Multi-Use Trail in Jackson, which will use green infrastructure to manage stormwater, increase biodiversity, improve air quality and reduce heat.

Register for free trees

Another recent award supports Arbor Day’s Energy-Saving Trees, a strategic tree-planting initiative working to provide 1,000 trees to residential customers to enhance their yards and shade their homes.

Any Entergy Mississippi residential customer can register to be notified when free trees become available through Get Trees | Arbor Day Foundation.

“I’m proud of our partnerships with the Arbor Day Foundation and the Capitol Green Trail,” said Haley Fisackerly, Entergy Mississippi president and CEO. “These are just two of the many ways that our employees and shareholders aim to make positive impacts on the communities we serve.”

The Environmental Initiatives Fund works to reduce emissions, protect natural resources and restore wetlands and forests. It also supports projects designed to educate Entergy’s customers, employees, communities and owners on the value of natural resources and other environmental improvements.
