Entergy recently joined community partners for a Driver’s License Restoration Clinic that provided free legal assistance to low-income and vulnerable residents.
Entergy, in collaboration with Jones Walker LLP, Justice and Accountability Center of Louisiana, Koch Methanol St. James, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles, and six local judges, hosted the Driver’s License Reinstatement Clinic at the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles in New Orleans. The clinic gave no-cost legal assistance to residents to resolve barriers to driver’s license reinstatement.
“For many individuals, a suspended license is more than an inconvenience. It creates barriers to work, childcare, and daily stability,” said Dan Falstad, senior vice president of general counsel at . “This clinic gives residents real solutions and underscores the value of strong community partnerships.”
The clinic served 103 residents from Orleans and Jefferson Parishes. Participants received guidance on documentation issues, outstanding fines, and legal matters that delay license reinstatement. Many attendees reported that reinstatement of their license would reduce financial strain, ease emotional stress, and restore independence. Additionally, several participants left with a clearer path toward employment and daily mobility.
