Where it is safe to do so, Entergy crews have begun restoring power to customers who lost service, but continued icy conditions may delay crews from safely getting to work. With temperatures dropping below freezing overnight, there is a threat of refreezing on untreated surfaces, which could hamper traveling until roads thaw. We continue to monitor the forecast and are prepared to respond as soon as we can safely do so.

  • Safety is our core value and always comes first. Then, restoring power is the top priority and first order of business. We assemble and organize the workforce needed to restore service safely and quickly to all customers.
  • At 3:45 p.m., approximately 154,200 customer outages occurred including:
    • Arkansas – 600
    • Louisiana – 89,360
    • Mississippi – 63,160
    • Texas – 1,080
    • These figures may include outages not related to the storm.
  • We reallocate resources necessary to support crews already working restoration efforts in the harder-hit communities to start restoring power as safely and quickly as possible.
  • Accessibility challenges such as icy road conditions and freezing temperatures may affect our ability to reach some areas of our territory and could delay damage assessment and restoration in those communities.
    • As of 12:45 p.m., transmission damage assessments show approximately 40 transmission lines, 500 miles and 50 substations out of service across our service area. Approximately 40 transmission lines and 30 substations have been returned to service.
    • As of 1 p.m., we have approximately 40 poles, 15 transformers and 150 spans of wire damaged. Approximately 10 poles, 10 transformers and 40 spans of wire have been restored.

Our crews are prepared to work long hours after the storm has passed, restoring service to customers as safely and as quickly as possible.

  • As of 2 p.m., we have more than 8,930 restoration workers in place or mobilizing to restore service for customers across our service area, including 4,315 mutual assistance and contract resources brought on specifically to assist in restoration. These resources include company employees, contractors and mutual aid resources numbering approximately:
    • 2,348 in Arkansas
    • 3,202 in Louisiana
    • 2,717 in Mississippi
    • 664 in Texas, which is projected to have lower damages.
