We’ve restored more than 55% of all Entergy customers across the system following the recent severe winter weather. Restoration efforts remain focused on the hardest-hit areas in Louisiana and Mississippi, with full service expected by this weekend.

Entergy Mississippi is taking to the skies flying drones and helicopters up to 5,000 feet in the air—more than three times the height of the Empire State Building in New York City—to better help scan our region for damages, improving the speed in which we can restore power for our customers. These efforts are part of our team’s continued focus on restoring power after winter weather blanketed significant parts of our service territory with freezing rain and ice last weekend.

Restoration efforts are well underway following the recent severe winter weather, which continues to disrupt customers’ lives primarily in Louisiana and Mississippi. We have restored nearly 50% of all Entergy customers across the system, and work continues in the hardest-hit areas, which are expected to be restored this weekend.

Entergy Louisiana provides updated restoration estimates
As of 1:00 p.m., approximately 65,000 customers remain without power, down from a peak of 91,500 outages.
The damage from this ice storm is comparable to a category 3 hurricane, but unlike a hurricane, where damage can largely be assessed once a storm passes, ice storm damage is often hidden.

Entergy Arkansas’s advance preparation helped minimize winter storm impacts
While Arkansas experienced widespread snow, sleet and freezing rain, Entergy Arkansas customers experienced fewer power outages than anticipated.

Entergy partners with the American Red Cross to provide disaster relief to communities affected by winter storm
Our annual $250,000 disaster relief grant enables the American Red Cross to provide essential supplies, food, water and shelter to those affected across our service area in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

Lingering ice continues to stress vegetation and power infrastructure causing delayed damage as crews work in extremely hazardous conditions. So far, restoration crews across Louisiana and Mississippi have worked diligently to restore power to more than one-third of customers following the severe winter weather system that passed through this weekend.

Entergy Mississippi’s storm team continues working to restore power as freezing temperatures, ice accumulation and hazardous conditions continue to affect communities across the company’s service territory. We have assessess more than 77% of our service area and restored more than 50% of customers affected by the storm.
